"People like you are not meant to go to the Top Schools... You should aim for average schools. You are only mediocre"

When we all sit down for a moment and reflect on our life journey isnt' it interesting how many random memories come up...

Some really great ones.

Playing in the garden with your friends in the warm afternoon sun,  giggles and screams fill the carefree air. There is a luminescence about such things. The spirit of possiblities.

Some memories on the other hand, bring up Pain.

Being told that you won't amount to much. Being told that you entire identity is based on what you are able to achieve in school and in life.

I have come to a realisation that these imprints from a long time ago and affect us greatly as adults.

Today I am proud to say that  I am bright person. Just not bright in a way my teacher needed me to be.

"Do you think you deserve better?"

I was 17

I have just been handed my exam results by my teacher Ms Hamimah Abu. Catastrophic would be an understatement. And yet Ms Hamimah did not say that I had done poorly or that she was dissapointed with me or start a motivational speech about applying myself more. All she did was ask me what I thought about my performance. She left it to me to decide whether I could do better or this was my very best academically.

"Do you think you deserve better?" That question I believe is applicable to everyone reading this right now.

Brilliance bursts out of every person. Each and Everyone of us are unique in our talents, capabilities and strengths. It is this diversity that makes our World a wonderful place. It took me a long time to understand this invincible life truth. Change begins with me when I take ownership.

Twists and Turns

My life took a very interesting turn when parents got crushed in the Asian Financial Crisis the late 1990's. Left with no choice but to cut my university education short I returned to Singapore from America to get a job to help the family. With no qualifications and a frosty job climate I started with telemarketing. Isn't that where all heroic stories begin? I had a massive reboot in how I was conditioned to think.

Go to school, get a degree, get a job! Year after year it was pounded into my brain. Until the eletricity supply in my house was disrupted due to. er hm.. not paying the bills. Reality. Since no one wanted to give me a full time job I decided to get many part time jobs. I sold drinks at events (sounded easy enough until they told me I had to carry the huge blocks of ice from the truck to the stall. Cold doesn't even begin to describe it.) I worked as a science enrichment class teacher for a high end kindergarten where I dazzled my audience of 3 year olds the  wonders of evaporation and wind power. I coached a junior college's debates teams, did some ad hoc public speaking classes for at risk youth organised by the Salvation Army and even tried out to be a voice actor for the Japanese Anime series "One Piece" The feedback I got, "You sound too Indian"

Question: How does one sound "Too Indian" Light is both a particle and a wave. I don't get it.

My adventures were born out of neccessity not courage.

When there is no way. You make one.

Today I have devoted myself to creating value by helping Individuals like yourself grow on a personal and professional level. Over the past decade I have been very blessed to have worked with thousands of people and countless Organisations to gain the right mental and emotional tools to create their own Mega changes.

I believe we are here on this planet for a limited time and it would be wise to make the best of it. To Dream Bigger, Dare More and Live Better. No matter where you may be in you life right now, whether it is a place or challenges, confusion, frustration or of goodness, I would like to add value to you in your Journey.
